We are offering an excellent career opportunity for a Permanent Full-time Lube Tech to join our team. The ideal applicant is mechanically inclined with an understanding and knowledge of heavy equipment, physically capable, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Thorough knowledge of construction site safety practices is a must. A valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract is required. Must be willing to work overtime, evenings, and weekends when needed.

Title:  Lube Tech
Location:  Edmonton, AB
Position Type:  Permanent Full-Time 
Reporting To: Equipment Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Servicing (Oil changes) / Greasing / Preventative Maintenance. Including, but not limited to: Excavators, Motor Scrapers, Bulldozers, Loaders, Graders, Track Loaders, Rock Trucks, Packers and Tractors
  • Changing of oil, fuel, air and cab filters
  • Preventative maintenance requirements on heavy equipment fleet
  • Daily greasing of heavy equipment
  • Supplying jobsites with required fluids
  • Retracting oil samples
  • Conducting equipment inspections
  • Assist heavy duty mechanics
  • Complete daily assigned paperwork
  • Maintain cleanliness in working areas
  • Follow all health and safety policies

Qualifications & Skills:

MAINLINE EXCAVATOR OPERATOR

We are looking for a Full-time Seasonal Mainline Excavator Operator to join our team. Applicant must have 2 years experience as an excavator operator, CSTS, Ground Disturbance, and a thorough understanding of construction site safety practices. A valid Class 5 driver’s license and your own means of transportation is required. Knowledge of underground water & sewer replacement is an asset.

Title:  Mainline Excavator Operator
Location:  Edmonton, AB
Position Type:  Full Time Seasonal
Reporting To:  Underground Foreman

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner to meet production deadlines
  • Conduct pre-trip/walk around inspections
  • Check fluids daily and fill as required
  • Read and interrupt ground markings to ensure proper depth to grade is followed
  • Responsible for placement of water, storm and sanitary sewer pipe in the excavation
  • Trenching, excavating, ditching, slope grooming, stock piling, and grading to meet specs
  • Confidently excavate in close proximity to ground personnel and existing utilities
  • Lowering of materials for piping crew
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and report/log any maintenance requirements
  • Understand and follow direction from ground crew
  • Follow direction for supervisor
  • Follow all health and safety policies and conduct trench work that follows all OH&S requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a excavator operator
  • Knowledge of underground water & sewer replacement is an asset
  • Thorough understanding of construction site safety practices
  • CSTS, ground disturbance
  • Must pass a drug/alcohol screening
  • Must have own means of transportation
  • Valid class 5 drivers license

We are currently seeking to add a Full-time Seasonal Scraper Operator to our team in the Edmonton area. Applicant must have a thorough understanding of construction site safety practices, a valid Class 5 driving license, and their own transportation. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and overtime when required. Previous experience as a scraper operator considered an asset.

Reporting To: Foreman

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Operate scraper in a safe and efficient manner to meet production deadlines
  • Conduct pre-trip/walk around inspections

  • Stripping, land clearing, cutting to specified grades
  • Interpret grade stakes and have a basic understanding of construction layout
  • Confidently operate scraper in close proximity to ground personnel, other mobile equipment, and other obstructions
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and report/log any maintenance requirements
  • Understand, interpret and follow direction from supervisor
  • Follow all health and safety policies and conduct work that follows all OH&S requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience as a scraper operator considered an asset
  • Thorough understanding of construction site safety practices
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime shifts when required
  • Must have own means of transportation

We are currently seeking to add a Permanent Full-time Heavy Equipment Technician to our team in the Edmonton area. Title:  Water & Sewer Top Man
Location:  Edmonton, AB
Position Type: Full-time Seasonal
Reporting To:  Underground Foreman

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Ensure pipe is installed and embedded properly and on grade using proper practices and materials required – monitor, control and adjust as necessary
  • Record trench and pipe grading via laser, level and rod or batter boards
  • Inspection of pipe, materials and tools prior to all usage
  • Rigging and lowering of all materials into ditch in a safe and proper manner
  • Prepare and help laborers throughout the day, directing junior crew members
  • Setting up track line
  • Lining up service connection locations, CB’s, MH’s, etc.
  • Act as the main watch point for hazards, ladders, slopes, etc.
  • Monitor and control water in trenches
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Understand and follow direction from supervisor
  • Maintain cleanliness in working areas
  • Follow health and safety policies

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a top man in underground utilities
  • High attention to detail and problem solving

  • Carry out site foreman’s directions safely throughout daily operations
  • Installation / and or Repairs of waterlines, sewer, storm and catch basins, valves and hydrants, etc.- as per specific specs

  • Monitor backfill of pipe bedding to ensure proper pipe support
  • Check pipe grade for conformance to requirements, using levels, lasers or batter boards
  • Train, mentor and motivate junior crew members
