We are currently seeking to add a full-time Seasonal Scraper Operator to our team in the Edmonton area. Applicant must have their own transportation, a valid drivers license, CSA approved steel-toed boots with 6″ ankle support, and the ability to work overtime during peak construction months. One year of experience as a scraper operator is preferred, RSTS or CSTS Certificate is an asset.

Title:  Scraper Operator
Location:  Edmonton, AB
Position Type: Full-time Seasonal
Reporting To:  Foreman

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operating the scraper in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Excellent communication with Foreman, Operators and Crew Members
  • Perform daily equipment and safety maintenance checks
  • Cleaning and refuelling of heavy equipment
  • Observe and report any hazards
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Required Experience & Additional Requirements:

  • Ideally 1 year of experience as a scraper operator is preferred, but no experience is necessary if applicant has past construction site experience and ability to train
  • Thorough understanding of construction site safety practices
  • Must have your own transportation and valid drivers license
  • Overtime will be required during peak construction months
  • CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
  • RSTS or CSTS Certificate is an asset

Title:  Main Line Hoe Operator

Position Type: Full Time Seasonal
Reporting To: Underground Foreman

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a variety of excavation duties related to water & sewer trenching, ditching and varied excavation tasks
  • Reading and interpreting ground markings to ensure proper depth to grade is followed
  • Using an excavator to dig trenches to proper grade and depth
  • Ability to work with trench boxes
  • Lowering materials for piping crew
  • Excellent communication with Foreman, Operators and Crew Members
  • Perform daily equipment and safety maintenance checks
  • Cleaning of heavy equipment
  • Observe and report any hazards
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Required Experience & Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mainline operator is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of construction site safety practices
  • Must have your own transportation and valid drivers license

PIPELAYER

We are looking for a seasonal full-time pipelayer to join our team in the Edmonton area. Applicant must have 2 years of experience in deep underground utilities and be able to safely carry out the site foreman’s directives throughout daily operations.

Reporting To:  Underground Foreman

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out site foreman’s directives safely throughout daily operations
  • Install various sizes/material of pipe as well as manholes, catch basins, valves, hydrants, etc.
  • Ability to direct Hoe Operator in excavating correct trench elevations
  • Monitor backfill of pipe bedding to ensure proper pipe support
  • Ability to safely work around excavation equipment in deep trenches

  • Check pipe grade for conformance to requirements, using levels, lasers or batter boards
  • Dig trenches to required depths by hand or using trenching tools

  • Train, mentor and motivate junior crew members

  • Preform other duties as required
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Required Experience & Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience deep underground utilities experience
  • Ability to read and understand construction blueprints and specifications
  • Thorough understanding of construction site safety practices

  • Extensive knowledge of equipment utilization, operation and maintenance

We are looking for a seasonal full-time topman to join our team in the Edmonton area. Applicant must have 2 years of experience as a topman, have excellent communication skills and be able to monitor, control, adjust, and record trench and pipe grading via laser, level and rod & batter boards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Continuous inspection of small tools

  • Proficient at cutting and bevelling pipe

  • Understanding and demonstrating skill in cutting to grade

  • Install culverts and rip rap

  • Monitor, control, adjust (as necessary), and record trench and pipe grading via laser, level and rod or batter boards

  • Monitor and control water in trenches

  • Perform pipe inspections prior to installation

  • Observes and reports any hazards

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Topman

  • Ability to read and understand construction blueprints and specifications

  • Thorough understanding of construction site safety practices
